Mayric's started out at 1983 as a student canteen and a hang-out for bank employees after work. A bank manager suggested to the owner that a professional one-man band play in Mayric's every night. This suggestion was put into play with customers requesting songs to the one-man band. Later on, the one-man band was replaced by a folk singer, by a duet, and finally by bands.
