With this conversion, Gloc-9, Francis' protege has released his fourth album, "Matrikula" under Sony Music. Gloc-9 type of music follows the '70s folk-rock themes popularized by Asin and Sampaguita. Filipinos are really music lovers by nature. This is manifested in the existence of different musical instruments in almost all communities in the country.
And with this CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines) and The Guitar Friends, group of guitar aficionados of varying levels of expertise who share a common bond, their love for the guitar, are launching the First Philippine International Guitar Festival.
The festival will be on stage starting Thursday at the CCP, which will be directed by Maestro Jose H. Valdez who is ranked by the CCP Encyclopedia of Philippine Arts as one of the pioneers of classical guitar in the country.
