Filipinos are really music lovers by nature. This is manifested in the existence of different musical instruments in almost all communities in the country.
And with this CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines) and The Guitar Friends, group of guitar aficionados of varying levels of expertise who share a common bond, their love for the guitar, are launching the First Philippine International Guitar Festival.
The festival will be on stage starting Thursday at the CCP, which will be directed by Maestro Jose H. Valdez who is ranked by the CCP Encyclopedia of Philippine Arts as one of the pioneers of classical guitar in the country.

Well-known rockers compose of Buwi Meneses of Parokya Ni Edgar, guitarist Paolo Toleran of Queso, and Urbandub personnel Gabby Alipe and Janjan Mendoza with the lead vocalist Franco Reyes.
The powerhouse band was form by MCA Music.
The band is launched through the airwaves via its album's carrier single "Castaway" which a noted music magazine editor considers as incredibly catchy.

Mark Escueta, drummer and remaining original member of Rivermaya, was interviewed in an e-mail message about the legal troubles that happened to him and to his band. According to Warner Music Philippines, the group attended the album tour to organize and to endorse the band's latest studio album titled, Closest Thing To Heaven. We're ok! Masayang-masaya kami kasi nalampasan namin yung mga problema last year, Mark stated.
