Francis M Talks about Second Chance at Life |

Francis Magalona, who was diagnosed with leukemia last August, was permitted by his doctor to momentarily leave the hospital bed last December 24 to spend Christmas Eve at home together with wife Pia, their 8 children and other close relatives.In a phone interview, with Startalk's Butch Francisco and guest host Ricky Lo, Francis generously shared the details leading to his emotional homecoming. Francis described Noche Buena this year as the happiest Christmas eve and he considered this as his second chance at life. Before he was dispatched to the hospital, Francis survived a deliberate medical condition days. He was in the ICU for 10 days and all the family members were there for every moment that time he could pass away. Last December 4, Francis had a very, very, very close brush with death. He went into septic shock and it was very scary moment. He was able to survive it and pronounced free to go home last December 24 and celebrate Christmas with his family. For the media noche, he welcomed 2009 with his family and he is happy to announce that he was now able to find a match for his scheduled bone marrow transplant. One of his sisters from the States and he has the same tissue typing so, she would be his donor. [via] |
