Pupil Band Chosen as Opening Act

Out of a possible ten local bands suggested by Splintr.com, the honor ultimately went to Pupil, Manila's very own to be the opening act by the international rock band, Nine Inch Nails, coming to Araneta Coliseum this August 5, 2009.

Splintr.com recently confirmed that Pupil was chosen as opening act for Nine Inch Nails, coming to Araneta Coliseum on August 5. Upon the announcement, the band had this to say: NIN playing in Manila is beyond awesome; we are excited as hell to open for them.

Pupil is fronted by Ely Buendia, who gained fame with his former band the Eraserheads, and is a relative newcomer to the local music scene, having been formed in 2005. Despite being new to the scene, Pupil has already made big waves by winning various awards including ‘Artist of the Year’ at the NU107 Rock Awards 2008 and Best Rock Video at the MTV Music Awards 2006.
