The pinoy music we all love!

Black Eyed Peas member Allan Pineda, a.k.a. Apl de Ap and American Idol season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez had paid a courtesy call to President Benigno Aquino III last Saturday night. President Noy  met the 2 appealing celebrities with Filipino roots in America at the Hilton Hotel to personally congratulate them in their good fortune in music careers. Jessica’s Twitter account and Facebook page posted how she was honored to finally met the President of the Philippines.

Pineda was born in Angeles City, Pampanga. He established his Apl.de.Ap foundation. His advocacy: ‘We Can Be Anything’ had helped the people of Angeles. Pineda decided to united with Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation to pursue his charity work. With this humble doings, Pineda had won six Grammys and had sold approximately 60 million records worldwide. On the other hand, Jessica Sanchez was born and raised in Chula Vista, California. Her mother is a Filipina from Samal, Bataan, her father was a Mexican-American US Navy. Jessica became popular when she reached the American Idol finals.

President Aquino had wished that Sanchez would bag the American Idol title. And other Malacañang officials have actively supported her AI battle. Although Sanchez only won the  1st runner-up title, more opportunities still pave her way. She has various singing engagement and media interviews. She also performed in the National Memorial Day Concert held at the US Capitol in Washington, D.C. Just recently, she sang the American national anthem during the boxing match of another Congressman Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley.
